Art in All of Us - Pen Pal Program for school art exchange
The objective of the AiA Art Pen Pal Program is to promote artistic and creative communication among children from all parts of the globe. We have setup a network of schools around the world, through which schools are paired and exchange informative artwork on their own country and culture.Through these exchanges, we hope to make the children aware of the world in which they live in, by providing the opportunity and tools required to communicate directly and creatively with children from foreign countries.
Participating schools are paired and asked to develop artwork based on a specific subject, suggested by AiA. Once the pieces are complete, both schools will send a package to one another, containing their finished work.
AiA also sends a list of evaluation questions to each school, where each teacher is asked to answer them with their students and then send them back to AiA. The aim of the questions is to evaluate the impact the exchanges had on the students; as well as to encourage them to think about the artwork they have received, and what they learned about another culture through the artwork they received from their Pen Pal school.
Participation in the AiA Pen Pal Program is complementary to the academic programs of the following classes: Art Education, Cultural and Community Service, Geography, and Foreign Language in some cases (where the paired schools communicate in a language different from their primary educational language).
